All our equipment is calibrated regularly to maintain the highest possible safety and accuracy levels. If you have a particular requirement where the standard equipment is not suitable Stressed Structural can design a bespoke unit to suit your application.
Most of the equipment available uses hydraulic pressure as a means of operating a piston within a cylinder. This produces a force to either pull or push the components of the structural member together, resulting in tension in the member. By recording the hydraulic pressure in the system or using a remote electronic load cell or strain gauge the tension can be calculated.
At Stressed Structural we have equipment available to tension bar, cable or bolts from 10mm to in excess of 100mm, on occasion needing to achieving forces of over 7000kN.
We also have substantial experience in the installation and tensioning of smaller diameter cable and bar used in substructures to support architectural glass in walls and facades.
